A fast-rising civil court judge (guest star Lindsay Crouse) is carjacked and gunned down in her garage, but as Detectives Briscoe (Jerry Orbach) and Green (Jesse L. Martin) begin to connect the dots, they consider the crime to be a botched murder-for-hire scheme -- and the primary suspect is her architect husband (guest star John Heard).
